Every time you talk to another computer, the results of your interaction are saved in a file on the Macintosh. The file is called a "session transcript".
The file is visible in an open document window, from the time of its creation until you decide to close it.
A transcript may be permanent or temporary. A permanent file is like an ordinary Mac document. A temporary file is trashed forever as soon as it is closed (unless it is saved explicitly first).
When a file is created for talking to another computer, whether it is permanent or temporary is decided by looking at the description of the account in TOPS Terminal Memory. It is temporary if the account has the "Don't Save Session Transcript" box checked.
If the transcript is not temporary, then an ordinary Macintosh "Save" dialog box appears after you choose an account, so you can decide where the session transcript will go.
